St. Dorothy C.S
Placed in a grade 2/3 class. At this placement I worked with the whole class, but also focused on working with one client. To help improve his written communication skills. I tutored and worked with this client to work on materials provided. This client would often become emotionally when he seemed to have difficulties with the materials. Through encouragement and sticker reward system he began to show interest and overall increased confidence.

TREADD St. Dorothy C.S
I was placed in a section 23 classroom working with children with Autism. It was an incredible experience that has influenced my views on behaviour when working with children with Autism. At placement we did several therapeutic activities such as weekly outings to the Jupiter Room, gym, respite houses, TREADD Store, trampoline club, and walks in the community. At this placement I observed the use of restraints and an SRI room. During crisis I was quick to respond by putting in place safety measures, ensuring safety of other clients, recording data, and supporting the client. At this placement I would run programs using ABA to help clients improve their motor skills, academics, social skills, and basic life skills.

Hincks Dellcrest Centre Weston
Is a residential treatment centre for latency aged boys. At this placement I support clients with their everyday life and strive to help them during challenging situations to make better choices. This placement has helped me overall increase my confidence in my abilities and myself. This placement has given me incredible opportunities to attend staff meeting, shift change, case conferences, parent's night, and events that have allowed me to feel welcome and also gave me an opportunity to get to know and hopefully make parents feel more comfortable. I have ran groups, completed daily logs, one month review, poc, communication books, and other administrative tasks.

Each year brings new experiences, from which we learn and grow. These experiences nurture our roots and strengthen the knowledge we have gained.
